Based in Hampshire near the New Forest, we have gained extensive experience in constructing agricultural concrete floors that need to have a high tolerance to wear and abrasion. Using state-of-the-art machinery and technology, we have built agricultural flooring for every use imaginable - from grain stores, poultry sheds, stables and barns to service roads and large external yards. Our team will ensure all your concrete flooring needs are met and the work is completed to a high standard.
As agricultural concrete flooring specialists, we can apply a choice of finishes to suit the operational needs of your building. Using our laser concrete flooring systems, we can create a variety of different styles that can be both ergonomic and decorative. Once an assessment of your premises has been completed, upon request we will advise you on which finish is most suited to your building - in most cases there will be a choice of either a high grip surface or a smooth power float finish.
With an economical and durable mix, our specially designed concrete is the perfect material for use on farms and other agricultural locations as it can tolerate the high traffic and varied weather conditions that will come its way. Depending on the specific project you are trying to complete, our contractors can tweak the concrete mix to suit your building, ensuring it remains durable and versatile for many years to come.
With a significant number of livestock, there are a few choices available but it would be sensible to consider a heavy brushed finish to your concrete floor. This is a durable finish that is resistant to abrasion and can also help prevent slipping in adverse weather conditions.
There are a number of options so our recommendation here would ultimately depend on purpose. For regular livestock movement, we would again suggest a heavy brushed finish, but for vehicular traffic only we would advise a normal tampered finish for maximum durability and high performance in all conditions.
In almost all circumstances, your concrete will need to be no more than 150mm deep as this is perfectly adequate for most purposes. Our high tolerance concrete mix is designed to withstand regular vehicular traffic and so there is no need for an excessively deep slab.
If you are anticipating regular and heavy use by vehicles, steel reinforcement is not normally required due to the strength and durability of our concrete mix. Generally, the only occasion we would recommend any type of steel reinforcement would be if there is a significant issue with your sub-base being weak or unstable. We would complete an assessment of your project area prior to the build to decide whether this is advisable.
With our extensive experience in this sector, we can get the job done quickly and efficiently as our contractors can offer you the complete package from start to finish. We understand that there are often challenging aspects to an agricultural build but we are confident Nationwide Concreting Ltd have the expertise to achieve your desired build.
