The warehouse floor slabs were completed in four separate pours, with each pour carefully planned to ensure consistency and quality across the entire 5,256m² area. The concrete was delivered to the site in batches and distributed using our state-of-the-art Boss laser screed machine, a key tool for achieving precise, level surfaces in large-scale concrete installations.
The use of the laser screed machine allowed us to create a perfectly level surface while also improving the efficiency of the installation. This advanced equipment ensures that the concrete is spread uniformly across the floor area, reducing manual effort and significantly speeding up the process. By incorporating laser-guided technology, we were able to achieve a high degree of accuracy in the flatness and levelness of the floor, meeting FM 2 tolerance requirements, which are critical for ensuring the floor can support the demanding operations of an industrial warehouse.
To further enhance the quality of the finish, we applied a fibre suppressant dust topping during the finishing phase. This specialized topping is designed to minimize the appearance of fibres on the surface, creating a smoother and more aesthetically pleasing finish. It also contributes to the durability of the floor by providing an additional layer of abrasion resistance, ensuring the surface can endure heavy machinery, pallets, and continuous traffic.
In addition to the warehouse floor, our team installed 1,122m² of undercroft and upper floor slabs. These areas were completed in two pours and were designed with the same attention to detail and quality control as the warehouse flooring. The undercroft and upper floor slabs required specific engineering to ensure they could handle both the structural load of the building and any equipment or storage needs in the upper levels.
Once the concrete was poured and leveled, our expert finishing team used power float machines to create a smooth and hard-wearing surface. Power floating is essential in large industrial flooring projects as it compacts the surface, sealing it against dust and improving its overall durability.
