7884m2 including 1297m2 of mezzanine floors
Co-ordinate all stages of industrial flooring project to specification & deadline (7 pours).
Nationwide Concreting have recently completed a new project with Marbank Construction at Lumina Park, Enfield. The project, measuring a total 7884m2, was completed in seven pours which included 1297m2 of mezzanine floors. Firstly our Contracts Manager visited the site and took all the measurements for the steel plates that were welded to each column. After this process our welding team then moved onto FIXING the armour joint system in place. As these ground floor slabs required an FM2 tolerance, our team needed to make sure all necessary risks were taken into consideration from the setting up of plates and the rails to the concrete pour itself. The floors received a fully powerfloated finish and sprayed with Proseal curing agent.
- Given the project's scope and the required FM2 tolerance for the ground floor slabs, the team took extensive measures to ensure precision and quality at every step. FM2 tolerance is a high specification standard that demands strict control over flatness and levelness.
- The concrete pouring process was divided into seven stages to maintain control and quality. Each pour covered a specific section of the project, allowing the team to focus on achieving the required tolerances and finish.
- The team meticulously set up the plates and rails to guide the concrete pour, ensuring alignment with the FM2 tolerance requirements.
- After each concrete pour, the surface received a fully powerfloated finish. Powerfloating involves using a power trowel to create a smooth, dense, and durable surface. This finish is ideal for industrial floors as it enhances the floor's wear resistance and overall durability.
- The powerfloating process was performed with precision, ensuring that the final surface met the high standards expected for an industrial environment.
To ensure the longevity and performance of the concrete slabs, the floors were sprayed with Proseal curing agent. Proseal is a high-performance curing compound that helps to retain moisture in the concrete during the critical curing phase, reducing the risk of cracking and improving the overall strength and durability of the concrete.
The project was completed successfully, with all seven pours meeting the stringent quality and tolerance standards. The mezzanine floors and ground slabs at Lumina Park now provide a robust and durable foundation for the industrial activities expected at the site. The fully powerfloated finish and the application of Proseal curing agent ensured that the floors are both functional and long-lasting.
