Concrete Flooring Lyneham

Project Overview:

Nationwide Concreting was tasked with completing a significant concreting project for Bryne & King at RAF Lyneham. The project involved the construction of four new industrial units within the high-security confines of the RAF base. Three of these units were designed to incorporate a natural light grey dust topping to enhance both the aesthetics and durability of the flooring.

Consultation and Planning:

- Initial consultation with Bryne & King to understand the specific requirements and constraints of the project, including high security and precise scheduling demands.
- Detailed planning and scheduling to ensure seamless integration with the main contractor's timeline and security protocols.

Site Preparation:

- Comprehensive site assessment to prepare for the concreting process, ensuring all necessary measures were in place to meet the stringent security requirements.
- Coordination with the main contractors and site personnel to maintain an efficient workflow and minimize disruptions.

Concrete Pouring:

- Execution of five separate visits to pour the concrete slabs, ranging in thickness from 165mm to 250mm. Each visit was meticulously planned to optimize curing times    and structural integrity.
- Utilization of high-quality materials and advanced concreting techniques to ensure the slabs met all specified standards and performance criteria.

Finishing and Detailing:

- Application of a natural light grey dust topping on three of the units, enhancing the visual appeal and providing a durable, wear-resistant surface.
- Precision finishing to ensure a smooth and even surface across all units, adhering to the highest standards of workmanship.

Outcome:

The project was completed successfully, meeting all the high security and programming requirements set forth by the main contractors. The concrete slabs, with their varied thicknesses, were installed efficiently and within the agreed-upon timeframe. The natural light grey dust topping on three of the units not only met the aesthetic requirements but also provided a durable and long-lasting surface.
