New IKEA Store in Greenwich

Install and finish a retail concrete floor slab
We recently undertook this retail concrete flooring project for our client Andrew Cowie Construction, installing a concrete floor slab for a new IKEA store in Greenwich. We have undertaken several concreting projects for IKEA stores in the past and were required to use certain specified retail concrete flooring products, however, in this case we were able to produce a test concrete panel that proved our Sika products were more than capable of meeting IKEA's high standards.
The concrete floor slab equated to 15,150m2 with a depth of 250m3 and required 11 pours of roughly 344m3 to complete. We designed the retail concrete floor slab using 50kg of 1/60 steel fibres per cubic metre, which were integrated by our concrete flooring specialists on site. We also installed over 1,400m of Alpha Joint from RCR Flooring to ensure maximum durability.
Finally, the new concrete floor slab was fully power floated by our concrete finishing team with Sika Syntop 2 Light Grey. The result is a completely defect free retail concrete floor that meets the high standards set by both our client and IKEA.
